She didn’t just keep throwing drama in your face, but it was kind of there in the background, in the form of a kind of sort of ex, Blue’s mysterious past and Keegan’s stalker of course. Brick used dramatic elements in this story. It made for lots of built in roommates (characters) for the story. I liked that Keegan was thrown into this big party house, which was totally not her scene. But now, let’s talk about what I did like in Tangled up in Blue. It was good, but it wasn’t anything different to make it stand out in my mind. But Tangled up in Blue felt very generic as far as new adult romances went. New Adult contemporary romance is my favorite age group for contemporary romance. But people who are getting burnt out on new adult, or who dislike new adult that is all the same, this may not be the book for you.įor the record, let me say, that I am not burnt out on New Adult. Fans of new adult will enjoy the romance and the college setting. On one hand, the romance was interesting and the story was solidly good. I really liked that Tangled Up in Blue was told in dual narrative, and I really did like the two main characters- Blue and Keegan. Tangled Up in Blue is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance series, Ikana College by author J.D. Note: This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence. Tangled Up in Blue contains strong language and adult situations. Book 2, Shelter from the Storm, continues (and concludes) the love story of Keegan and Blue. Tangled Up in Blue is Book 1 in the Ikana College contemporary romance series. Searing and sexy, Tangled Up in Blue explores the cost of courage, deception and sacrificial love. And I've got one hell of a choice to make. Except that, dear God, he turns out to be everything I've ever wanted. Even if he is intense and seductive and so passionate about his music that watching him play makes my soul sing.īecause he's exactly what I don't need. KeeganI've got no time for the playboy party animal who has suddenly become my accidental roommate. Deep down, I know that having her could destroy us both. The thing is, I'm wrestling with demons I can barely control, and Keegan's the only one who soothes them. It's not just that her body turns me into a walking, talking boner. Somehow, though, she burrows deep under my skin, and I can't even think straight. She's definitely a distressed damsel, and all my hero instincts start kicking in. And forget the past.īut then she shows up, running through me just like a freight train. All I want is to party like there's no tomorrow. All I want is someone to help pay the rent. No f*ing way I'm going down that road again. I pull up to my new home and see a tatted-up bunch of trouble sprawled on the front porch.īlueThe last thing I need in my life is another damsel in distress.
